What does USP fabricate?
Process skids, pipe spools, pressure vessels and tanks, structural steel and modules, and grating, handrail and secondary steel. All five are fabricated in one works in Tianjin, China, under one quality system.
Which codes and standards does USP fabricate to?
ASME (U stamp for pressure vessels, PP stamp for pressure piping, B31.3 and B31.1), EN 1090-2 EXC3, EN ISO 3834-2, PED via the Module G route, AS/NZS 1554 Parts 1 SP, 2 and 5, AS 1657 and GB. Material is supplied with EN 10204 3.1 certificates.
Which materials can USP weld?
Carbon steel and low temperature carbon steel, CrMo P11 and P22, austenitic 304 and 316L, duplex 2205 and super duplex 2507, and nickel alloys including Inconel 625, 825 and 600, Alloy 59 and Incoloy 800. Stainless, duplex and nickel alloy work is kept in segregated bays.
What is USP's monthly capacity?
About 1,000 t of structural steel, 35,000 to 60,000 dia inches of pipe spools (roughly 3,500 spools), up to 100 skids, 4,000 to 5,000 m² of grating and 4,000 m of handrail per month. Our working scope for structural packages is 2,000 t to 4,000 t.
How many skids has USP delivered?
More than 3,500, including 1,953 skids for APLNG Upstream Sustain and 759 wellhead separator skids for GLNG in Australia. 348 skids were delivered in 2025. The largest skid delivered measured 33.6 m × 7.32 m × 7.02 m.
Can USP do fatigue rated welding to AS/NZS 1554.5?
Yes. For BHP's Jimblebar TLO replacement USP qualified and delivered fatigue purpose welding to AS/NZS 1554.5 on the rail support and bin modules, with stud welding to AS/NZS 1554.2, under AS/NZS 5131 construction categories C2 and C3.
Which certificates does USP hold?
ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, valid to 25 May 2028 and issued by China Great Wall (Tianjin) Quality Assurance Centre under CNAS and IAF MLA; ASME U and PP; EN 1090-2 EXC3; EN ISO 3834-2; and the PRC pressure vessel licence D1 and D2.
Are USP's welders subcontracted?
No. Welders are directly employed. The attendance register carries 264 people.
Where is USP and how are goods delivered?
The works is in the Balitai Industrial Park, Jinnan District, Tianjin, about 40 km from Tianjin port. USP delivers FOB or FAS Tianjin with seaworthy packing and nitrogen purge where required; the ocean freight is arranged by the buyer's forwarder. Oversize packages load out from a leased yard at Lingang port with SPMT to 320 t.
Does USP install equipment on site?
No. USP does not perform or supervise site installation on overseas projects. We provide technical support during installation where a client asks for it; installation stays with the project contractor.
Does USP provide engineering?
Yes, with our engineering partner: 40 engineers covering 3D modelling, mechanical arrangement, E&I design and shop detailing in PDMS, E3D, Inventor, SACS, PV-Elite, X-Steel and Spoolgen.
What testing and inspection is done in house?
Two industrial X-ray rooms, PAUT, hydrostatic testing to 32 MPa, post weld heat treatment, CNAS material verification, and FAT and pre-commissioning of skids. NACE and CWI qualified inspectors are on staff, and third party NDT is arranged when the client requires it.
